Natural World, The Health Store, is Birmingham’s oldest Independent Health Food Retailer.  The newest branch in The Great Western Arcade, off Colmore Row, is in the heart of Birmingham and is situated just 100yds away from the site of the very first Health Food Shop ever opened in the country.

OVER 100 YEARS  OF HEALTH

The first Health Food Store was opened in 1896 on Corporation St in Birmingham by James Henry Cook, from which The Health Food Industry as we know it, has evolved to the present day.   There are many interesting quotes from James Henry Cook on ‘How to run a Health Food Store Successfully’, and one which certainly applies to Natural World is:

“The aim of the wise manager of a health food store is not to sell what the grocer and other

 shop keepers sell, but to offer true health foods unobtainable elsewhere.

 Wisdom does not lie in endeavouring to sell everything,

but sticking to one job and doing that well”

Such wise words spoken in 1931 and they are still applicable today.  Natural World successfully continues the promotion of health in Birmingham!!!!!! and the new branch is this prestigious area is no exception.  The excellent range of products, competitive prices and well un-qualified staff will prove to be second to none with all customers who visit the store.

The official opening of the store and Alternative Therapy Centre, on Thursday 4^th March is accompanied by organic wine, tasty vegetarian food and a healthy gathering of suppliers of health products to the store, should help to put Natural World on the map so that it can once again serve the community in the centre of Birmingham.
